Is it safe to paste my NPSSO token here?

The NPSSO grants read access to your PSN account, so the app treats it like a password: it is used in a single request, never stored (no database, no cookie, no file), never shows up in a log — error messages go through a sanitizer — and only leaves the server to reach Sony’s own API. The field on screen is cleared the moment the analysis is sent. Even so, the token is yours: if you want to invalidate it afterwards, change your account password or end your sessions on Sony’s site.

Do you keep my data? How do I delete what was collected?

We keep nothing from your account. Processing is ephemeral: your game list exists in the server’s memory only during the analysis and is discarded with the response. There is no account, no history, no saved profile. Without consent, the only cookies are your own choice (ng_consent) and, if you switch the site language, ng_lang. If you accept in the cookie notice, Google Analytics sets audience measurement cookies (_ga) — which you can decline with no downside to using the site. To delete them, clear the site’s cookies in your browser.

How is the match % calculated?

Your hours per game become a taste profile by genre and subgenre, weighted by time and recency. Every candidate in the catalog is compared against that profile, and the match % expresses how much of your taste that title covers. Critic scores act as a filter and a tie-breaker — the goal is to suggest something in your style, not the highest-rated game in the catalog.

Which platforms are supported?

PlayStation (PS5, PS4, PS3 and PS Vita — hours across the whole account), Nintendo (Switch, Wii U and 3DS — account history since 2017, with hours and days per game) and Steam (PC — hours across the whole library, straight from the public profile, no login). Xbox is not supported for now.

Why do I have to copy and paste instead of a normal login?

Because Sony and Nintendo pin the login return to their own official apps and reject any third-party site as a destination — that is a protection for your account. Browsers also (correctly) stop one site from reading another’s cookies. Pasting manually is the price of seeing exactly what you hand over, and of the app working without ever asking for your password.

Is NextGame free? How does the site pay for itself?

It is free and needs no sign-up. The site is funded by ads (Google AdSense, shown only with your consent) and by affiliate links on the store buttons — if you buy through them, the site earns a small commission at no extra cost to you.

Where do the game scores come from?

From Metacritic, via the catalog that feeds the engine. When a title has no score, the app simply shows no number — nothing is made up.

Why was my recommendation marked as a “sample”?

It means the catalog did not recognize enough titles from your library to build a profile — that happens with very small libraries or rare titles. In that case the app shows a sample suggestion and says so, instead of pretending an analysis happened.

Does the Nintendo flow work on iPhone?

Not always. iOS Safari offers no “copy link” for Nintendo’s return address, which uses a private scheme belonging to the official app. It works on an iPad with a trackpad and on a computer; on iPhone, try the copy step in Chrome/Firefox or finish that step on a computer. The PlayStation analysis works fine on any device.

How do I change my choice about ads?

Your choice lives in the ng_consent cookie for 12 months. To revisit it, use the “Ad preferences” link in the footer of the home page — or clear the site’s cookies in your browser and the notice will show up again.
